The Obedient Bodies are the essence of the project “Still Humans.” These forms symbolize bones, humans or perhaps screaming mouths; A number of meanings can be attributed. The subjugation of the human and his body, its arbitrary and unimpeded tradition in the modern function of power, are the issues I want to address. This work is a depiction of today’s reality, and at the same time it implies resistance against the fragmentation of the human being in our time. These forms, hysterically dramatize the conflict between desire and resistance, memory and repulsion, essence, and emptiness

Athanasia-Iris Giaxidis, a multidisciplinary visual artist, is active in the artistic world of Europe. She is from Greek origin living in the Netherlands. She had various solo-exhibitions, participations in multiple group exhibitions but also taught art in her studio and in schools. Her latest project “Still Humans ” marks the beginning of a modular project that includes paintings, sculpture installations, micro-sculptures, performances and music.
